All of the stencils make elegent designs that can greatly aesthetically advace the interior of your home. So far I have used a few of the designs in my art journals but have to baby them and don't think I will be able to use each design more than a few times before the moisture in my paints totally destroy them. While it didnt expect the stencils to be the same heavy duty plastic ones you can but indivually , I did expect to be able to actually use them with ya know, paint. These are just light weight card stock with a light plastic coating on them.

One very helpful lesson details the steps needed to enlarge any small motif into a trendy, oversized, wall stencil. The Stencil Library blog () was launched in 2007, to provide inspiration and information about stencil-related decoration along with the more photogenic aspects of life at The Stencil Library. Is a celebration of this endlessly creative craft form, which has been used for centuries to decorate interiors. The book includes 20 new stencil designs, specially-created by Helen and her husband, designer Michael Chippendale.
It says in the description that it comes with stencil templates. I figured that meant they would be printed on paper, and I would have to cut them out myself like I've seen in other books, but that isn't the case. The stencil is cut out of a hard plastic like material that can be easily removed from the book. Customs Charges - if you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to VAT , other taxes, customs duties and/or fees levied by the destination country.

Although I have been using stencils for years I still found that this book gave me up to date ideas for using the included stencils. It is full of tips and information for making the process as easy as possible. The fact that there are ready to use stencils included is billiant as you can get started immediately. Also the service you get if you need to order from The Stencil Library is very good and they are happy to send abroad which is a boon for me.

Helen Morris founded the Stencil Library in 1988, when she recognised a gap in the home-decorating market for the type of stencils that her husband Michael Chippendale, a graphic designer, made and used in his work. Since its launch, The Stencil Library has built an international reputation and an impressive catalogue of more than 4000 stencil designs, offering a wide range of global, historical and contemporary decorative styles. The company regularly creates new collections to reflect public demand. It also produces bespoke designs and has cut stencils for royalty, politicians and celebrity clients. Helen and Michael run their business from their home, Stocksfield Hall, in Northumberland. A showcase for their work, the house is frequently featured in magazines and on television, and is open to the public occasionally.

She went to a proper English boarding school where she developed an inventive approach to art, drama and rule bending. She had decided that when she grew up she would either be a world famous movie star or a world famous fashion designer but that was because she had never owned a stencil set as a child. If she had I am sure that it would not have taken twenty eight years before Helen realised that she wanted to be a stenciler.

The first time I used one the water in my acrylic paint seeped under the plastic costing and started breaking down the cardboard underneath. International shipment of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges. The most important feature of any craft book is the "inspiration" it provides, and this book has it. There are dozens of great applications shown, from embossed stationary to needlepoint canvas, and the designs are shown in a variety of colorways, from subtle to bold. While the book itself is lovely to look at and does have several examples with instructions I purchased it for the several full size removable stencils in it.
